For 2023 we have decided to try to keep our vacation budget down by camping as much as we can handle. The first two nights of our trip we stayed at First Landing Campground right on the Bay.<br /><br />First Landing Campground is a beautiful and serene camping spot located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The campground is situated in a 2,888-acre state park that features over a mile of beachfront along the Chesapeake Bay. The campground has 200 campsites, which include sites for tents, RVs, and cabins. Visitors can enjoy various activities, such as hiking, fishing, boating, and swimming. The park also has picnic areas, playgrounds, and a visitor center that provides information about the park's history and ecology. The campground's location, surrounded by natural beauty, makes it an excellent spot for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.<br /><br />The park is named after the first landing of the English colonists who arrived on April 26, 1607, and is believed to be the site of the first landing of Captain John Smith and his crew.
