#10 Utah +1.2% of +28,639
Utah in general is definitely gaining a large amount of people due to the scenery. The state is home to several national parks, including Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches, as well as numerous ski resorts. You know, #vanlife shit, #richpeople shit

People from California, Texas and Arizona top the list of transplants.
#9 Arizona +1.3% or +70,984
People are moving to Arizona for the same reason they have moved for a long time. To leave winter behind. Also, Arizona is widely known as a retirement destination.
Younger people are moving to Arizona for the vast outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.
Californians, Texans and Illinoisans are the origin of the top three groups relocating to Arizona. People from Arizona have said that people who move from Chicago are the most Illinoising. Running out of water will ultimately be way more Illinoising in my opinion.

Folks are moving to North Carolina mostly to escape brutal winters in the north. However, North Carolina does have a growing economy, which offers diverse job opportunities in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and finance. The “Research Triangle” of Raleigh, Durham and Cary is poised to be the next Austin if things keep going the direction they are going.
In fact, Raleigh was 2nd ONLY to Austin in population growth for major cities between 2010-2019. I myself moved from Columbus, Ohio to Carolina Beach, North Carolina in 2006 and left in 2009. Had it not been for not being able to afford to buy a house there, I would likely still be there.
When it comes to who is relocating to North Carolina from New York, New Jersey and Florida to the list. Florida is likely still people from New Jersey that locals like to call “Half Backs” because they are moving halfway back to New Jersey.
#7 Delaware .14% 11,826
People are moving to Delaware because of its relatively low cost of living, favorable tax environment, and proximity to major metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.
Delaware also has beautiful beaches, historic landmarks, and natural attractions such as state parks and wildlife refuges that make it an attractive destination for retirees and outdoor enthusiasts. Also, Delaware has no state or local Sales Tax on goods.
Most of the people relocating to Delaware are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. I swear that every state south of New Jersey has New Jersey on the top of the list for incoming transplants.
And of course people are moving there to be closer to their god and almighty savior Joe Biden.

South Dakota should change it’s slogan to “Come for Sturgis, stay for one winter because you are from California and you couldn’t handle that shit” as South Dakota is very much know for Tourism.
People are making their way to South Dakota for the lower cost of living. South Dakota has the 6th Lowest Overall Effective Tax Rate.
The top states moving to South Dakota are Minnesota, California, and Texas.

Don’t Mess with Texas! Well, over 230,000 people decided to Mess with Texas in 2022 alone.
Texas has been attracting a large number of people in recent years due to several factors. One is the state’s strong economic climate and of course, Texas doesn’t have any state income tax.
The cities who are the biggest recipients of transplants are Dallas-Fort Worth , San Antonio and of course, Austin.
Texas is one of the many states seeing an influx of folks from California and I am sure it is driving some of the northern counties into succession talks because many of those moving to the state vote differently than they do.
Seriously thought, look home many people voted for Donald Trump in Northern Texas. If this part of the state got any redder it would like Trumps after climbing the 28 stairs on Airforce one. (At least he didn’t fall down burp durp durp)

People fucking LOVE Myrtle Beach. I don’t get it. It’s literally just 14 airbrush t-shirt stands and 98 Wings Beach Stores both of which have a plethora of Rebel Flag Merchandise.
I get it though, the state is warm and it’s got both beaches and mountains AND a plenty of golf courses and race tracks. Plenty of places for RVs and even ocean front mobile home parks.
The economy is also thriving in South Carolina, particularly in the Upstate area. Between Charlotte NC and Greenville SC there is a good chunk of both states GDP. However, the ocean proximate towns of Myrtle Beach and Charleston are on the receiving end of most domestic migrants.

Oh Boise do I know about this one. Idaho is real butt hurt about all the folks moving there.
Idahoans enjoy the state’s natural beauty, outdoor recreational opportunities, and relatively low cost of living and then are like “WHY YOU MOVING HERE??”
Quality of life is also a big motivating factor for folks moving to Idaho. The state offers a range of outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, skiing, fishing, and hunting, as well as access to national parks not far away such as Yellowstone and the Grand Teton. In addition, Idaho has a low crime rate, good schools, and a strong sense of community.
Californians lead the charge in moving to Idaho, but before you say “Don’t come in and vote Liberal, meh…” over the last ten years Idaho has seen a net INCREASE in the amount of registered republicans.
Idaho has also been targeted by far Right 2nd Amendment loving Doomsday preppers who are part of a movement known as The American Redoubt, the core of which is a group of folks who are moving to places they feel they will be safe if and when society collapses. “WORLD WAR WOKE!!!!!!”

There are several factors that have contributed to Florida’s population boom. One of the biggest reasons is the state’s favorable tax policies. Florida has no state income tax, which makes it very attractive to individuals and businesses looking to save money.

Currently Homeowners in Florida are experiencing a near doubling of their home insurance rates year over year with some areas being all but uninsurable. That’s a hell of a roll in the dice to avoid freezing temperatures if you ask me.
According to an article from the New York Post stated that as of September 2022, 41,885 New Yorkers have handed over their licenses after moving south to Florida. “Hey get rid of all this pesky plants on our property and get some rocks, you ain’t gotta water no rocks!”
