Housing is a basic necessity for every human being, but existing single-family homes are being bought up by mom and pop AND institutional investors faster than pancakes at the Cannabis Cup. It’s a goddamned trailer, make no mistake. Only difference is it ain’t in a mobile home park. Shipping container homes require a fuck ton of welding and cutting to be made inhabitable. They are also usually only 400 sq ft each. They can however, be stacked and connected directly to expand the footprint of the home. Again, fuck ton of welding shit to do this. Shipping container homes are incredibly strong and durable, and they are also eco-friendly since they are made from recycled materials. It’s the equivalent of turning a cargo van into your #vanlife digs with a custom build.

Yurts

Unless you are REALLY into glamping, like all the fucking time, yurts are a ridiculous option in my opinion. Yurts are circular, portable homes that are traditionally used by nomadic people in Central Asia. No dis to those using them there, they know how to make them themselves and shit. Yurts are made from a combination of wooden poles and felt or canvas coverings, and they are designed to be easy to set up and take down. Yurts are a great choice for those who want to live a more nomadic lifestyle, as they can be moved from place to place as needed. Additionally, yurts are energy-efficient and can be powered by solar panels, making them a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional homes. Yurts are pretty common in Hawaii and Alaska from what I have seen in my research. Break out your Yoga moves, patchouli and trust fund, it’s time to glamp in our yurt, bruh.

Earthships

Earthships are self-sustaining homes that are designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Earthships are made from recycled materials, and they are designed to capture and reuse rainwater, generate their own electricity, and regulate their own temperature. Earthships are a great choice for those who want to live an off-grid lifestyle, and they are also a great way to minimize waste and live a more sustainable life. If you drive through rural America you will often see homes that look like a scavenger found random building materials and pieced together a dwelling. Well, this are like Hillbilly versions of Earthships. They may not look like much from the outside, but the occupant is living in their just fine. Challenge is know how, you really have to learn a lot to build a proper earth ship. I have a friend in Taos County New Mexico who is working on one in an off grid community. Earthship is very homesteadcore.
